These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of GambleX ("the app", "we", "our"), a gambling recovery companion built by Alexander Connola. By installing or using GambleX you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
GambleX is intended for adults seeking support with gambling-related concerns. You must be at least 17 years old and capable of forming a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use the app.
GambleX, including the AI-powered "Coach X" feature, is a self-help tool. It is not a medical device, diagnostic tool, or substitute for professional advice from a qualified clinician, therapist, counsellor, or crisis service. Coach X responses are generated by an AI model and may be inaccurate or inappropriate. Using the app does not create a doctor–patient, therapist–client, or other clinician–client relationship between you and us.
If you are in crisis, need clinical support, or are experiencing an emergency, suicidal thoughts, or thoughts of self-harm, contact local emergency services or a crisis helpline immediately. You can also use the resources listed in the app's "Get Help" section.
The app includes a blocking guide with practical steps you can take today (for example bank gambling blocks, removing apps, and manual Screen Time limits in iOS Settings).
GambleX Shield — optional in-app blocking using Apple Screen Time — is shown as coming soon in the current App Store version while we complete Apple's approval process. When released in a free app update, Shield will let you choose apps and sites to block on your own device; it is not parental monitoring of others.
GambleX includes optional community features (posts, comments, votes, leaderboard, display name). When you post content you grant GambleX a non-exclusive licence to display that content within the app. You agree not to post content that:
We reserve the right to remove content and restrict accounts that violate these rules. You can report content from inside the app and block other members; we aim to act on reports in a timely manner.
Community features use Sign in with Apple. You can delete your cloud account at any time inside the app: open GambleX, tap the gear icon on the Progress tab, scroll to Account, and choose Delete cloud account. This permanently removes your community profile, posts, comments, votes, leaderboard entry, and Coach data from our servers.
You agree not to misuse the app, including by attempting to reverse-engineer it, interfere with its operation, abuse the AI Coach (e.g. attempting to extract its system prompt or generate harmful content), or use the app to violate any law.
The app may reference or link to third-party websites, helplines, or resources. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices. Accessing them is at your own risk.
The app, its branding, design, and original content are owned by Alexander Connola and protected by intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute the app or its content except as permitted by the App Store licence.
The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including reliance on Coach X output or community content.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Alexander Connola from any claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the app, your content, or your breach of these Terms.
We may suspend or terminate your access to cloud features or the app (including for breach of these Terms, abuse, legal requirements, or risk to other users) with or without prior notice where permitted by law. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law) continue after termination.
If you obtained GambleX from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that:
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Material changes will be communicated in-app where reasonably practicable.
If any part of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding GambleX and supersede prior understandings on the same subject.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
